In May I visited Scoill Vallajeelt and as well as reading them some of my poems we spent some time composing our own poetry. They were a great group to work with and my thanks goes to Mrs Kinrade who organised it all. After I had visited the school the children sent me some of their own poems inspired by the work we had all done. I’ve included a couple below – my favourites all received a bumble cage for their hard work! Jeant dy mie ooilley!
Noodles
Noodles, snoodles Even my poodles like noodles I have a bunch Even for lunch And sometimes Even for brunch Sometimes I go home And my dad has cooked Five pots of noodles So I tuck in First I feed my poodles Then I have some noodles.
Noodles
Noodles are like poodles My poodles like noodles And for lunch I would have a gallon of noodles With my poodles And my noodles And I went home and my mum had a plate of noodles I love noodles Give me oodles
Stars
Stars wait ‘till night time When they shimmer and shine They light the way Down on earth Stars glitter in the sky As they float In space And the stars gather Round the moon. They are as pretty As a diamond In a cave As they dazzle In the sky Stars twinkle Above earth Shooting stars Sparkle When they shoot Across Earth.
